Here we are , another great year gone by. Our CD sales surpassed my expectations, Musically the band is going down a really good road right now,, where we will end up is anybody’s guess .We had hoped to start a new CD this winter but it’s looking like maybe the end of summer would perhaps be a better time.

HERE IS THE RUNDOWN
Kevin and the Coconuts, a steelband based in Mendocino, California, plays a lively mix of calypso, soca, latin and original tunes with the greatest musical inspiration coming from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Cuba. The band is comprised of Kevin Grant, pan-builder, tuner and arranger on lead pan and double seconds, Annie Lee on the three cello pans, Dalen Anderson on the four bass pans, Dan Albrecht on drum set, Steve Paul on trumpet, Double Seconds, and percussion and Paul Schulman on congas. This core group of six can be expanded with the addition of a three piece horn section and special guests.
We’ve Recently over the last year added a lot more vocals from Calypsos , Latin , swing and Jazz numbers
Kevin and the Coconuts are available for weddings, parties, dances, gallery openings, or concerts. The band can play with or without amplification indoors or outdoors and can provide anything from the perfect background music to Salsa and Soca and Swing dance Music
